COCOA SHELLS

Cocoa shells also known as hulls or husks are the outer portions of the cocoa beans that encase the nibs. These shells are rich in fiber and antioxidants and carry great potential as food and beverage ingredients. They can be used in feedstuff for animals, in agriculture as mulch to suppress weeds, in biofuel production, as a low cost absorbent to entrap pollutants, as a dye, and in food products to boost nutrient content.
