Azadirachta indica, commonly known as neem, nimtree or Indian lilac, is a tree in the mahogany family Meliaceae.
The bark, leaves, and seeds are used to make medicine. Neem products are believed by many practitioners to be anthelmintic, antifungal, antidiabetic, antibacterial, contraceptive, and sedative. It is particularly prescribed for skin diseases and to treat leprosy, eye disorders, bloody nose, intestinal worms, upset stomach, loss of appetite, cardiovascular disease, fever, diabetes, gum disease (gingivitis), and liver problems. Neem oil is also used for healthy hair, to improve liver function, detoxify the blood, and balance blood sugar levels. Less often, the root, flower, and fruit are also eaten as a vegetable. The leaves are well known to be a natural pesticide
